From the Earth: Workshop Hosting Information
Hosting a workshop is a great way to learn as well as get a building project started. You can choose from one of the selected workshops listed below
or create a custom project to suit your needs.
List of Selected Workshops
Cob 1,2,3 -Basic cob workshop, covering how to mix and build with cob. This workshop typically runs 1
to 2 days in duration and costs between $45-$85 per person.

All You Need to Know About Cob -A more advanced workshop with in depth instruction on
designing,building and decorating a cob structure. This workshop typically runs 4 to 6 days in duration
and costs between $100-$450 per person.

Cob A to Z - A complete cob building workshop, covering all aspects of building a cob structure including
foundations, window placement, electrical installation and roofing systems. This workshop typically runs 4
to 8 days in duration and costs between
$250-$600 per person

Large Scale Earth Sculpture - This workshop takes a more artistic approach to cob building.
Participants will learn basic cob building techniques while creating a large scale earthen sculpture. The
workshop will cover earthen plaster application, the use of  armatures, as well as, an in depth discussion
on artistic aesthetics and form. This workshop typically runs 2 to 6 days and costs between $50 to
$350 per person.

The Essential Earth Oven - A basic earth oven workshop, covering all aspects of designing, building
and using a wood-fired, earth oven. Participants will learn basic cob building techniques concerning the
construction of an earth oven, including sculptural and decorative earthen plaster applications. This
workshop typically runs 2 to 4 days and costs between $45 to $150 per person.

The Outdoor Kitchen - A more advanced earth oven workshop,including cob walls & benches, window
placement, electrical installation, roofing and grey water systems. This workshop will also include in
depth discussion on natural design, visual aesthetics and hybrid oven design. This workshop typically runs
4 to 8 days and costs between
$250 to $600 per person.

Throw a "Cob" Party - Create your own private workshop with friends and family. With a "cob"
party, From the Earth is paid a one time fee to facilitate a cob workshop of choice.  From 1 day to 10
days, the cost of a "cob" party workshop can run $150 and up, depending on what is needed. Private
workshops also make great team building exercises for corporate retreats.  
*All of these workshops can be customized to suit your personal needs and can be designed to accommodate
both adults and children. Prices are determined on sliding scale and guarantee of workshop participants.
